7 Out of 10

I have noticed a commercial on TV for a certain lotion. It is a commercial bragging about how their product is better than all the other ones, and how 7 out of 10 people prefer their product. At least, that's what they're trying to say. Instead they say 7 out of 10 knees prefer it, and 7 out of 10 shoulders and feet prefer it. Last time I checked the majority of the world has two of each of those body parts. I would really like to meet the person whose left foot prefers this lotion, but the right one prefers another. I would also like to meet the person with bipolar knees. I think they would be an interesting case for some scientist to study. Or maybe someone tried to simplify a fraction that no longer made sense once simplified. Yeah, I think that's the more likely option of the two.

Current Favorite Song

I listen to music almost constantly. Which could be why I have a hard time paying attention to things that last longer than three and a half minutes. My favorite music changes on a weekly basis though. I'll try not to post every new song that I love, but I really love this song right now. So I'm gonna post it.

I promised you the world again
Everything within my hands
All the riches one could dream
They will come from me

I hoped that you could understand
That this is not what I had planned
Please don’t worry now
It will turn around

Cause I need more time
Just a few more months and we’ll be fine
So say what’s on your mind
Cause I can’t figure out just what’s inside

I hoped that you could understand
That this is not what I had planned
Please don’t worry now
It will turn around

Cause I need more time
Just a few more months and we’ll be fine
So say what’s on your mind
Cause I can’t figure out just what’s inside
So say alright
Cause I know we can make it if we try
Cause I need more time
Just a few more months and we’ll be fine

We’re off to new lands
So hold on to my hands
It’s gonna be alright
It’s a whole lot brighter
So stand by the fire
It’s gonna be alright
Yeah, the road gets harder
But it’s not much farther
It’s gonna be alright
You know that it ain’t easy
Please believe me
It’s gonna be alright
Please don’t worry now
Please don’t worry now
Please don’t worry now
It will turn around

Cause I need more time
Just a few more months and we’ll be fine
So say what’s on your mind
Cause I can’t figure out just what’s inside
So say alright
Cause I know we can make it if we try
Cause I need more time
Just a few more months and we’ll be fine

First Year at School

As I mentioned in my previous post, this is my first year at public school. It's been interesting going from being a home-schooled kid to public school. I used to think waking up at 8:00 was early, now I would kill to be able to sleep till 8:00. I also used to think it was unfair when I only got one extra day on an assignment because I forgot about it. However I realize now that I didn't have a clue what unfair was. At the beginning of this year, literally the first day, I was told I couldn't have a hard copy of the homework that was due the next day. Now this is supposed to be a paperless class, and all our work is supposed to be done online. However, it was my first day at school, and we needed our student ID to login to the website. But like I said, it was my first day. I didn't know I had a student ID, much less what it was. I asked my teacher if she was able to find it out for me, she told me that she could, but that it wasn't her problem so she wouldn't. So after trying for about 30 minutes to find out my student ID, and not being successful, I asked my teacher if I was able to get a hard copy of the homework. I was told no. Here's the interesting part, the student that asked her 15 seconds earlier was told yes. I then politely asked her why I wasn't able to get a hard copy, again she told me that it wasn't her problem that I didn't have my ID and she didn't care if I failed the homework. I'm amazed that we don't have more honors students with teachers like this. I later figured out my ID, but the unfairness of the situation with my teacher was more than a little upsetting.

Several occurrences like this have happened this year. It's made me realize how prevalent injustice is in our world. It's also made me want to stop whatever injustice I'm able to stop. Some things you are forced to put up with, and sometimes others are forced to put up with things because those of us that could do something about it aren't doing something about it. I obviously can't stop every injustice in the world, but I'm going to do my best to stop whatever I can, because there are some things that people just shouldn't have to put up with.

The First Post

The first post, it seems oddly important. Like my entire blogging career rests upon this first blog. However this isn't actually my first post. You see I used to have a blog. However I got tired of writing so I decided to let it die. I regret that decision now, because I had several great stories written on it, and I have now forgotten important details about most of those stories.
Anyway! (I know that you're not supposed to say anyway while writing, I just did it to make the grammar nazi's in my family cringe.) I was inspired to start a new blog by my friend Micah. She started one last night, and it made me remember how much fun I used to have telling what actually happened in my mothers blog, or proving to my sister that Superman is cooler than Batman (I feel like this argument will be reborn once she reads this.)
Now since this is the first post on this blog, I shall tell you a little about myself.
I'm a home-schooler, well sort of. I have been a home-schooler my entire life, until this year. I go to public school now, and I'm halfway through my senior year (my year so far at public school will have to be several posts long, so you'll just have to wait for those great stories.) That's right, my senior year, that means that this year I'm going to become a legal adult, graduate high school, and go to college. I'm very excited about college, because I'm going to college with 3 of my best friends. I'm very very excited about it.
I absolutely love music. I have my headphones in during most parts of the day, this includes my english class. I listen to almost all types of music. This excludes bluegrass and country, but I don't consider that music so my statement is still true.
I also like to read. Not like super nerd reading, but the occasional book is definitely something I enjoy. I read odd books for someone my age, such as 1984, Animal Farm, Fahrenheit 451. I don't know anyone else my age with the same favorite books.
Hopefully you have enjoyed learning a little bit of my personal info. This shall be the first of hopefully many blogs to come. Please continue to read my post, and if you don't like my blog then you should visit it daily just so I get more hits than my mother.
